Equipping Students to Blend Christian Character with Academic Excellence

Student Council

The Student Council at CCS is first and foremost composed of the students who are the spiritual leaders of the school. As such they are responsible for organizing all the activities of the student body. This includes pep assemblies, canned food drive, formals, macho volleyball, powder puff football, spirit weeks, homecoming, friendship grams, change wars, World Vision as well as many others. They also play a significant part in the daily morning devotions and are expected to lead the student body by example.

Student Council seeks to enable leadership in the students. To foster these qualities, Student Council members are expected to exhibit Christian character and academic excellence.

2016-2017 Executive Board

Gabrielle Fincher

President Elect

In the past two years I have been the class representative. Now, I am officially the student body president for the 2016-2017 school year. This year I want to encourage a positive change. By letting students know that they're accepted. Not only just by telling them but by showing it through my actions; inside and outside of the classroom. "Kind words are like honey, sweet to the soul and healthy for the body."-Proverbs 16:24

Mollie Lewandowski

Vice President Elect

My name is Mollie Lewandowski and I am currently a junior as I serve my third year on Student Council. I have previously served as Secretary and Activities Director over the past two years and I am looking forward to helping lead the school once again. My favorite Bible verse is Psalms 29:11 which says, “The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses His people with peace.” I love this verse and think of it often because no matter what problems or difficulties I face, I will always be able to overcome it with strength that comes from God and His peace. During the 2016-2017 school year I hope to get to know each of the other students on a more personal level through the various school events and activities. I want to encourage others to do so as well, which would then create a tighter bond with the student body as a whole.

Katie Sandberg

Secretary Elect

My name is Katie Sandberg and this year on Student Council, I am serving in the position of Secretary. In 8th grade I served as the Junior High representative. I loved representing the Junior High, and I believe that it has prepared me to take on a bigger task. That is why I chose to run for Secretary. I am so honored and excited to be apart of this years Student Council. The scripture that I am standing on for the 2016-2017 school year is Philppians 4:6-7. It says, " Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I love this verse because it always reminds me that if I am in a stressful situation I can always pray, and God will take care of it for me. He will give me peace and comfort, and He will help me through any situation in this life. I am so excited for this school year and look forward to seeing how student council can impact our school for better.

Anna Farner

Treasurer Elect

My name is Anna Farner and this will be my second year on student council. In the previous year I served as the Sophomore class representitive. I stands on the verse Colossians 3:14 because I am a strong believer in Unity. I am looking forward to getting to know and bond our students this upcoming year.

Debby Grandle

Activities Director Elect

My name is Debby Grande, and this will be my third year serving on Student Council. In the past I have been a Junior High Representative, the Secretary, and now will work as the Activities Director. One of my favorite Bible verses is 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind." This year, my hope is to keep the student body excited and involved with fun events, and to see the students' relationships with Jesus grow stronger.

2016-2017 Class Representatives

Jasmine Burley

12th Grade

Meghan McGrath

11th Grade
My name is Meghan McGrath and this is my second year on Student Council. In previous experience I have been a JH representative. I am ready for this year to service the student body with whatever I can help with. My favorite verse is 1 Peter 5:7 "cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." I like this verse because it helps me know that God is always there for you no matter where you are, and He will take the weight off you shoulders in trouble times.

Juliana Adams

10th Grade
My name is Juliana Adams and I am a sophomore. This year is my first time having a position in Student Council, and I am excited for a year of growth. I tend to be a little shy but with one of my favorite bible verses , Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong. Take courage. Don’t be intimidated. Don’t give them a second thought because GOD, your God, is striding ahead of you. He’s right there with you. He won’t let you down; he won’t leave you.”; I am working towards breaking out of my shell this year and getting to know the student body a little bit better.

Brandon Orick

9th Grade
As Freshmen Rep. this is the first year I've been on StuCo. I'm very excited to be more apart of the school and in the events that go on. I'm looking forward to making this year as fun and rejuvenating as possible. "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." This is probably the most talked about verse in the Bible, but it gives me hope and something to look forward to. So I don't care about being basic.

Allison Burruel

Junior High
My name is Allison Burruel and this is my first year on student council. I'm excited to be more involved in the school this year and make an even more positive environment. I can't wait to help make it an enjoyable year. My favorite verse is Zephaniah 3:17, "For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take great delight in you with gladness. With His love He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful song." The reason I like this verse is because it always reminds me that God loves me just the way I am and that He is always there for me.

Bella Huffstetler

Junior High
My name is Bella, and I'm in eighth grade.  I came to CCS seven years ago. I love volleyball and basketball and am looking forward to this year on Student Council! Besides sports, my favorite pastimes are writing fiction and reading pretty much anything I can get my hands on. My favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 31:27.
