Country Christian School

Equipping Students to Blend Christian Character with Academic Excellence

Accreditation

Country Christian School is registered with the state of Oregon as a private school for grades K-12. In addition, Country Christian School is fully accredited by Cognia, which guarantees Country Christian School graduates access to the college or university of their choice, providing all requirements of that institution are met. We voluntarily work with this accrediting body in an effort to continually improve our student-learning goals and objectives.

Cognia is the largest community of education professionals in the world. They are a non-profit, non-partisan organization that conducts rigorous, on-site external reviews of Pre-K-12 schools and school systems to ensure that all learners realize their full potential. While their expertise is grounded in more than a hundred years of work in school accreditation, Cognia is far from a typical accrediting agency. Their goal is not to certify that schools are good enough. Rather, their commitment is to help schools improve.

There are three significant elements to accreditation:

Intensive, institution-wide, self-appraisal, analysis, and improvement planning.
External consultation, review, validation, and insights from a visiting peer group.
Ongoing accountability for improvement through annual reporting and renewal.

In 2016, Portland Monthly rated CCS as the 5th best private school throughout the Portland Metro Area.
